ANNOUNCING THE 2022 JOE ANN CLARK GRADUATE NURSING EDUCATION AWARDS

  LSNA again seeks applicants for the prestigious Joe Ann Clark Graduate Nursing Education Award! Established in 2012 to honor Dr. Joe Ann Clark for her distinguished career in professional nursing in Louisiana, this scholarship is offered on an annual basis as funds are available. The scholarship is supported by funds from the Louisiana Nurses Foundation (LNF). Recipients may receive this award one time only. Financial arrangements for this award are managed through the Louisiana Nurses Foundation.

 Purpose: The goal of the award is to provide financial support for selected Louisiana registered nurses pursuing graduate education in preparation as nurse educators in an academic environment.

 Amount of Awards: Two awards of up to $1,500 each will be provided for Spring 2023 academic expenses to Louisiana graduate nursing students preparing to become nurse educators in an academic environment.

Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria.                                                                                                                                                         

1. Must be a Louisiana registered nurse admitted to a graduate program offering a master's or doctoral degree in Nursing in preparation to become a nurse educator in an academic environment. Full-time or part-time students in an accredited Masters, post-Masters, or Doctoral program may apply, whether on-site or online.

 2. Must be a Louisiana resident who has completed the first 6 hours of graduate Nursing coursework with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater in work completed in the program.

 3. Must have demonstrated advocacy involvement at the bedside, within their practice area or region, or at the state and national level. Advocacy is how nurses have used their influence to shape and bring about change at the bedside and beyond.

 Award Application: The applicant is responsible for submitting application materials by 12 midnight on Monday, December 12, 2022. Incomplete applications or those received after the deadline will not be considered for funding.
