ASAE Honors NLN Taking Aim Series with Power of a Gold Award
The Taking Aim Initiative: Addressing Structural Racism, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Implicit Bias & Social Justice has been honored with a prestigious Power of a Gold Award from ASAE, the American Society of Association Executives. This award was earned with the support of the initiative by AMN Healthcare and Elsevier Nursing and Health Education. NLN to Honor Two Nursing Education Leaders with the President’s Award
The NLN has named two prominent nurse educators as the winners of the 2022 NLN President’s Award. This distinctive honor is reserved for outstanding leaders in nursing education whose lifetime career achievements merit widespread public acclaim. Jan Jones-Schenk, D.HSc, RN, N.E.-BC. FAAN, FAADN, and Barbara Sattler, RN, DrPH, FAAN, will be honored during the NLN Education Summit in Las Vegas. Dr. Jones-Schenk is Executive Dean Emerita of the College of Health Professions at Western Governors University who recently retired as senior vice president and executive dean after 14 years in positions of leadership. Dr. Sattler is founder of the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments. She will also deliver the keynote address at this year’s Summit, Human and Planetary Healing. Read More

The NLN Awards, named for three luminaries in nursing education, will also be presented at the NLN Summit, part of a special Honors Convocation. The annual NLN Awards honor individuals and organizations of stature and distinction within nursing education and the wider field of American health care. This year's winners include:

  • The NLN Mary Adelaide Nutting Award for Outstanding Teaching or Leadership in Nursing Education: Richard Lee Pullen, Jr., EdD, MSN, RN, CNE, CNE-cl, CMSRN, ANEF
  • The NLN Isabel Hampton Robb Award For Outstanding Leadership in Clinical Practice: CAPT Michele Ashton Kane, PhD, U.S. Navy
  • The NLN Lillian Wald Humanitarian Award Jessica L. Peck, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, CNE, CNL, FAANP, FAAN

The NLN is committed to providing a safe NLN Summit for attendees and staff. Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, all attendees will be required to submit proof of their up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination status. Implicit Biases & Influencing Factors of Prelicensure Nursing Faculty Regarding English-as-Additional-Language Prelicensure Nursing Students
Research Participant Recruitment: This study is an exploration of existing implicit biases of nursing faculty regarding linguistically diverse prelicensure nursing students and the factors that may influence the presence and strength of such biases. For faculty that teach in a prelicensure nursing program in the U.S. with the majority of their teaching assignments focused on prelicensure students; and faculty who teach in diploma, associates, traditional baccalaureate, accelerated baccalaureate, and entry-level graduate programs.
