NLN Educational Practices Questionnaire-Curriculum (EPQ-C)
In 2015 the NLN published the Vision Statement, Debriefing Across the Curriculum, that focused on integrating debriefing across the curriculum – not just in simulation – as a potential to transform nursing education.
Using the literature on Chickering and Gamson’s (1987) seven principles of good teaching practices and the concept of debriefing and its principles, the instrument was revised to add statements that were inclusive of all seven of these principles and the use of reflective teaching practices.
To reflect the intended purpose of the instrument, the NLN revised the tool – now known as the NLN Educational Practices Questionnaire-Curriculum EPQ-C – to better evaluate the use of educational best practices in teaching and learning across all educational environments.
