New Pre-Summit Sessions Now Available for Registration
Check out the latest pre-Summit sessions just scheduled and open to attendees:

  • How to Implement Use of Next Generation Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (CJMM) in Your Course: An Immersive Experience for Nursing Faculty: As detailed by the NCSBN, the use of unfolding case studies by faculty in classes allows faculty to use formative assessment, performance measurement, and evaluation of students' ability to fully utilize clinical reasoning and judgment as preparation for the clinical setting. This "faculty" workshop will allow you to work on various unfolding case studies and use a template while incorporating next-generation question types ranging from "Extended Drag and Drop," "Cloze Drop Down," "Matrix Grid," "Extended Multiple Choice," and others. The consideration of various components of the CJMM will be explored, including recognizing and analyzing case-specific cues, hypotheses prioritization, solution generation, and taking action. Peer review and item analysis recommendation will be discussed.
  • Creatively Connecting Climate Change to Curricula: Climate change is a known threat to human health; however, academic nursing institutions have been slow-moving to incorporate climate change concepts into curricula. At this workshop, you will learn from expert faculty who have successfully incorporated climate change into nursing curricula. This thought-provoking, hands-on workshop will offer participants an interactive overview of climate change’s role in nursing care; examination of two creative tools, The Nurses Climate Challenge School of Nursing Partnership (co-sponsored by Health Care Without Harm) and competency-based climate change curriculum guide, highlighting strategies to incorporate climate change into curricula; and a review of exemplars to share with colleagues and generate conversations on adopting this important content. As climate change continues to impact the health of the world's population, nursing faculty and institutions must be armed with tools to support incorporating environmental and climate topics into existing curriculum. This workshop will provide participants with the resources needed to fill this gap.

NLN Supports the International Society for Professional Identity in Nursing
In 2018, the International Society for Professional Identity in Nursing (ISPIN) began a journey to define professional identity in nursing and describe its domains. Subsequent research has validated this work and the concept of professional identity in nursing has been integrated into several of the foundational documents of nursing in the U.S. ISPIN reflects the consolidated effort of health care professionals to develop and raise awareness of professional identity formation in nursing. NLN Chief Program Officer and Director of the NLN Center for Transformational Leadership Dr. Janice Brewington represents the NLN within the society. Learn More
